Actress-filmmaker Angelina Jolie is set to executive produce “The Breadwinner”, an animated film centring on a young girl living under the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.
The film is an adaptation of Deborah Ellis’ young adult novel of the same name, said The Hollywood Reporter.
It will be directed by Nora Twomey from a screen story by Ellis and screenplay by Anita Doron. The story revolves around Parvana, who disguises herself as a boy to become the breadwinner of the family when her father is unfairly imprisoned.
